Homepage > Some Winter Walking Holiday Inspiration

As the cold weather is starting to hit the UK we thought we would give you some winter walking inspiration to get you moving again! There is no need to pack away your boots over the winter period. You just need to travel slightly to find some winter sun. Remember though you may not have the summer temperatures you will definitely be warmer than sitting back home in the UK! Why not check out our options below for you to keep fit over the winter season.

Some Winter Walking Holiday Inspiration

La Gomera

Only 30 km from Tenerife this is the second smallest island (and the most green of the islands) in the Canary Islands. There are crisscrossed hiking trails all over the island which makes it great for exploring by foot. In the centre of the Island you will find the Garajonay National Park. It was declared a national park in 1981 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Read more about our La Gomera Walking holiday today.

Gran Canaria

Compared to La Gomera, Gran Canarias landscape is completely different. You start your walking holiday in Agaete, which is on the island’s rugged north-west coast. You will explore the island and Mount Tejeda. There is also the option of spending the day in Las Palmas instead of going out hiking. Exploring on foot is the best way to travel!

Tenerife

Being the largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is also one of the more popular islands for tourists to visit. That said on this walking holiday we try to stay away from the touristy areas so that you can explore the Island in all its beauty. Situated in the middle of the island is Spain’s highest peak – Mount Tiede. We have graded this walking holiday in Tenerife as a Level 2-3, however, you will definitely enjoy this winter sun location.

Majorca

Our walking holiday in Majorca stays away from the more popular touristy areas. You will explore the mountain range of the Sierra de Tramuntana in the northwest of Majorca. The northwest coast of Mallorca is very beautiful where you will walk through picturesque villages, along coastal cliffs and idyllic beaches and a walk from Lake Cuber at the top of the range. You will also visit Soller which has the famous Soller Train and Tram. Great experience if time allows.

Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast

If you didn’t want to go to one of the Spanish islands, you could always consider Italy. The beautiful Amalfi Coast makes a great hiking destination. With its beautiful coastal towns that hang to the cliffs. Vivid colours and blue ocean you must not forget to take your camera. Our Amalfi coast hiking holiday explores Naples and the Amalfi Coast between Amalfi and Praiano.
