The Swiss Alps could have been purpose-built for picturesque hiking holidays; as it is, we can only wonder at the power of the natural forces that created this beautiful part of the world over the millennia. Whether you are a hiking holiday veteran or you have always fancied trying a walking break but could never decide where to go, Switzerland should definitely be at the top of your list of destinations for your next annual getaway.
Many people visit this area with the sole intention of racing down snow-covered mountainsides with two flimsy strips of wood or fibreglass strapped to their feet and a couple of whippy poles with which to steer. This may be one of the most popular ways to see the local scenery but if you really want to enjoy everything the Swiss Alps have to offer, we recommend a slightly more restrained pace so that you have the time to appreciate the stunning views and beautiful environment more fully.
Carefully Planned Itineraries
We are well-known for our attention to detail and every one of the self-guided tours that we offer has been meticulously planned to the last detail. If you are looking for the kind of walking holiday in Switzerland where you don’t have to think about the route you will take the next day or which hotel to stay in for the night, our packages could have been tailor-made for your needs.
Our Bear Trek itinerary is spread over 8 days, starting at Meiringen railway station. From there, all you have to do is to follow the clear walking plan and maps that we provide and prepare to enjoy a visually stunning holiday in what is one of the most famous mountain ranges in the world. Highlights of this tour include the Trümmelbach waterfalls, the scenery as you make your way through the Sefinenfurgge Pass, and the view from the highest railway station in Europe: Jungfraujoch, which is situated below the col of the same name.
We try every itinerary before offering it to our clients to make sure that we have thought of everything. When you book a walking holiday in Switzerland with us, all you need to do is to turn up at the appointed starting place, with an open mind and a sense of adventure. Our Swiss packages include accommodation, detailed guides and luggage transfer, leaving you to free to enjoy walking unencumbered.
