We love Slovenia and cannot recommend a walking holiday in this part of eastern Europe highly enough. Our tours of this country take place in the northwest region, among the rugged beauty of the Slovenian and Julian Alps, where some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of continental Europe can be found. Although the terrain is distinctly mountainous, the walks are of average difficulty and none of them are rated as climbing routes. Our Slovenian self-guided walking breaks are more chocolate box scenery and forest walks than crampons and leg cramps so there is no need to worry that you will find them too arduous or taxing!
Skirting around glacial lakes, through stony passes, verdant valleys and across alpine meadows, walking in Slovenia on our self-guided tours will give you the opportunity to enjoy a variety of stunning scenery whilst breathing in the clean mountain air. You will also visit Bled, the beautiful town on the shores of the lake of the same name, which attracts visitors from far and wide. Whether you are a professional photographer, a keen amateur or simply somebody who enjoys taking snaps with a mobile phone, you will find yourself moved to make a pictorial record of your Slovenian walking holiday as one beautiful scene is followed by the next.
If you are in the habit of spending a week or two by the sea whenever you have the chance to get away, or perhaps a stolen weekend here and there in cosmopolitan cities such as London, Paris and Rome, you will find walking in Slovenia a very different kind of holiday experience altogether. All of our tours in the country are self-guided, which means that you get to spend your days and nights with your chosen holiday companions rather than an anonymous group or fellow travellers. At the same time, you will have access to our on-the-ground support team should you ever be in need of help and our detailed walking instructions, accompanied by easy-to-follow route maps, will ensure that you never get lost along the way. With clean, comfortable accommodation included in the packages too, our walking holidays in Slovenia are the perfect type of break for people that like to strike out on their own but would rather not have to make all the necessary arrangements by themselves.
