Tour Details

Our Trossachs Trail Walking Holiday explores The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in Scotland. Explore the Lochs, Glens and Mountains of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park on foot. The Trossachs Trail explores the most picturesque area of the Trossachs, an enchanting area of lochs, mountains, rivers and forest rich in both scenic beauty and historical interest. Sir Walter Scott was inspired by The Trossachs to write “Lady of the Lake” and “Rob Roy”, both of which popularised the Highlands of Scotland as a popular destination.

Trossachs National Park is the first National Park of Scotland which was officially opened in 2003. Loch Lomond is one of the most famous Lochs in Scotland (after Loch Ness) and the surrounding area to the east of this loch is the region of the Trossachs.

Your Trossachs Trail walk starts in Callander a bustling town often called the gateway to the Highlands. You then head north to Strathyre before heading west towards Balquhidder; a beautiful glen famous as the site of Rob Roy’s Grave. Then you the continue our Trossachs Trail walking holiday through Glen Finglas and into the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park to Aberfoyle. You now walk over the Menteith Hills to Callander with views beside Loch Venachar. Why not spend a few extra nights in Callander to enjoy the many walks in Callander that there is local, like the Bracklinn Falls walk.
